This quilt’s story: “After all, tomorrow is another day.” spoken by Scarlett O’Hara is the last line in Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. Written in 1936, it is one of the most beloved stories about the grandeur, destruction and resilience of the people of the south touched by the American Civil War. More than 30 million copies of the book have been printed worldwide. The orange batik fabric represents the burning of Atlanta. The tree is reminiscent of the moss covered Oak trees throughout the south. The house is Tara, from which Scarlett gained her strength and fortitude. No problem was so large it could not be solved once she was at Tara.
