Name of quilt: Horton and his Egg (No. 6)
The book that inspired this quilt… Horton Hatches An Egg
Materials: Cotton Fabric, quilting thread
Techniques: raw edge applique
This quilt’s story:
My kids were big fans of Dr. Seuss books growing up. This was one off their favorite books, so I choose it as my challenge entry this year. Horton is grey cotton fabric with his body and head in two separate pieces to add dimension to it. The limbs of the tree along with the nest and grass are also made of cotton fabric with raw edge applique. It was quilted with a whimsical theme much like the Dr. Seuss books.
