This quilt’s story:  After learning of this year challenge I thought long and hard about which book I wanted to do. Like many others my list of favorite books is longer than I have time to quilt. I choose this book as I liked the message it portrays. The Coat of Many Colors talks about how it is okay to be different and your own person.  I recreated a page of the book where the little girl is looking at the mountains. I did this by piecing her coat out of 1-inch pieces then raw edge applique to the quilt. The mountains are made from two different pieces of green cotton fabric with a cotton sky fabric. To give my girl a life like appearance I used doll hair to bring her to life complete with a Fexi Clip. The quilt is finished with a tight all over quilting.
